Solemn Midnight Mass in Rome: Tridentine Rite...
The members of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (www.fssp.org) in residence in Rome invite you to join them in their Roman celebration of Christmas! Christmas Midnight Mass will be sung in the Tridentine Rite at the parish church of Santa Maria della Pace (entrance at Via Arco della Pace, 5). This church is near Piazza Navona, just next to the German parish in Rome, S. Maria dell'Anima. All are welcome!

Oh, to be in Rome!
Beautiful church . . . but what's with the Warhol poster?
Unfortunately, the beautiful, Bramante cloister of this church, Raphael frescos and all, has been turned into a modern art gallery and cafe.
It's quite a nice cafe actually. At least it hasn't been co-opted by some useless government ministry and one can still see it, unlike other cloisters in Rome.
You're right, bare, the cloister is free and accesible and while the cafe/gallery is not the perfect use, it could be much worse.
And, while I'm at it, that's one tiny "car"
I was thinking of the Community of San Gregorio at about 6:30 PM EST on Christmas, wishing I could be participating in the breathtaking Midnight liturgy taking place at that very moment. Maybe someday . . . :)
IS ROME GOING TO APPROVE THIS?
Protestant Heidelberg Catechism:
XXX. LORD'S DAY.
Question 80. What difference is there between the Lord's supper and the popish mass?
Answer. The Lord's supper testifies to us, that we have a full pardon of all sin [a] by the only sacrifice of Jesus Christ, which he himself has once accomplished on the cross; and, that we by the Holy Ghost are ingrafted [b] into Christ, who, according to his human nature is now not on earth, but in [c] heaven, at the right hand of God his Father, and will there [d] be worshipped by us: - but the mass teaches, that the living and dead have not the pardon of sins though the sufferings of Christ, unless Christ is also daily offered for them by the priests; and further, that Christ is bodily under the form of bread and wine, and therefore is to be worshipped in them; so that the mass, as bottom, is nothing else than a [e] denial of the one sacrifice and sufferings of Jesus Christ, and an accursed idolatry. <<<<<<<<<<
