When bishops, too, get it wrong...

For some the small stuff does not count, but for many of us it does.

So the next time you find yourself at the P.T. Barnum ordinations under the big top in Winona let His Grace know the right way to address a prelate in writing (the red letters are those which I have changed so as to be in correct form)...

Your Eminence:

Amidst this tremendous media storm stirred up by imprudent remarks of mine on Swedish television, I beg of You to accept, only as is properly respectful, my sincere regrets for having caused to Yourself and to the Holy Father so much unnecessary distress and problems.

For me, all that matters is the Truth Incarnate, and the interests of His one true Church, through which alone we can save our souls and give eternal glory, in our little way, to Almighty God. So I have only one comment, from the prophet Jonas, I, 12:

"Take me up and throw me into the sea; then the sea will quiet down for you; for I know it is because of me that this great tempest has come upon you."

Please also accept, and convey to the Holy Father, my sincere personal thanks for the document signed last Wednesday and made public on Saturday. Most humbly I will offer a Mass for both of You.

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

N.B. And "Sincerely yours in Christ" sounds a bit Anglican/Evangelical. It's always safe to instead write: "Asking the blessing of Your Eminence, I remain, Sincerely Yours in Christ."

On the topic of the ferraiolone why did Bishop Bernard Fellay not wear it when he met the Pope when tradition says to wear it?!!!!!

So you recognise that the writer is a 'Bishop' (even though he was ordained under the 'big top') then you go to treat him with contempt ?

typo sorry... (it's the heat over here)

...then you go on to treat him with contempt.

This one writes like an Anglo-Saxon however once an Anglican always an Anglican. The English are awash in Whig interpretation and will always seek greatness in moral high ground over and above the villanous papacy and popes who are "wrong" when the Anglo is "right". Though largely unrecognized Williamson is an inspirer of papacy bashing on YouTube.

PS. This is why he is adverse to precision in ideas and details of unity. It is the Anglo way suited to us or the highway for liberals and the rest of the world.

I Scripture quoted out of context here??

Anonymous - "...once an Anglican always an Anglican". You're not serious?!
How abusrdly small your world must be.

It's difficult to expect more from a convert.

They have ordinations in a tent because they don't have a church big enough to hold everyone, unlike your Novus Ordo which has toooo much room! DEO GRATIAS!

Come back to reality, Sonnen. You won't be in Roma too much longer.

Since when have ordinations in a rented circus tent on a grassy yard been a part of Catholic "Tradition?"

A bishop does not ask (in writing)the blessing of another bishop or cardinal, the same reason why he does not kiss any other ring than the pope's.

The proper form for anyone of no-episcopal rank to end a letter to a cardinal used to be: Kissing the Sacred Purple, I remain Your Eminence's most devoted servant...

It wasn't until the Church abandoned her Tradition, and her faithful adhering to it were not allowed in the adequate churches (much less the few that weren't wreckovated) their forefathers built.

Since thousands of people show up and there is no church in the vicinity that could possibly hold them all.

Well, recent Popes have said Mass in sports stadia. Sports stadia and big tents are not that far apart, now are they?

I don't know why Pope Benedict had to say Mass in that stadium in New York. No venue can fit everyone in the world. If St. Patrick's isn't large enough for everyone who wants to attend a Papal Mass, too bad. Oh, if I were M.C. . . .
