This is the body of Padre Pio. Although the face is wax, see his gloved hands with his true fingers exposed, now black in color.

Anonymous said...: That's disappointing that he is not as incorrupt as was implied when he was exhumed. I remember the cardinal or bishop who presided over the ceremony when Padre Pio was exhumed was talking about how his hands looked as if he had just had a manicure. I suppose not!

I can respect that he has a mask on so that his body is a seemly object of veneration for the faithful. But I can't help but think that it would be better if there were no mask or if the body were not on display; people should see the hard fact of mortality.

Padre Pio died and his earthly remains are decaying - so it will be for all of us. But his soul is in heaven! That is what counts; that is what we should focus on.; 5:27 AM
