The tradition is to take an evening stroll to the Campo de' Fiori. Enjoy the holiday cheer, lights and decorations and buy some fresh holly and pines to spruce up your table. The holly will last for weeks.
I love the Campo de' Fiori and the sights and sounds and smells of the street traders' stalls at any time of year ! I'd include a stroll to the piazza Navona nearby to savour the Christmas atmosphere there. Yes, I know it's rather commercialised and touristy, if that's quite the right word, but it's fun anyway !
