Avery Dulles Ordained 1956/6/18

A fine prelate. It was a pleasure to once shake his hand atop a Rome street in 2005 and to thank him for his fine work.

wHAT A WONDERFUL PRIEST AND CARDINAL. MAY HE REST IN PEACE.

It's sad when you think ofwhat the Jesuit Order has become since 1956.

They had 36 new priests at the Fordham ceremony alone in 1956, celebrated by the great Cardinal Spellman.

IN the USA back then, there were close to 8,000 Jesuit priests in the USA (close to 10,000 Jesuit priests in the USA alone by the close of Vatican II....barely 2,000 today!!! qith a median age in the 70's.)
Back in 1956, there were over 2,500 Jesuit seminarians in the USA alone, and close to 4,000 by the close of Vatican II !!! There's less than 200 today!!

World wide, there were 33,000 Jesuits in 1956 (36,101 by 1965)....barely 18,000 today.

Says alot for the pre-Vatican II Church, and on the other hand really condemns the Vatican II Church . But then again, that's not a surprise to anyone who has eyes to see, and a brain to reason correctly.
