In a forest of palms...

This is the Port of Genova. It is here that Christopher Columbus learned how to sail. Those were days of sturdy faith. Columbus landed on the island of San Salvador. It is here that the first Holy Mass in the new world was celebrated. Columbus brought to the new world Catholicism. We are the custodians of this same Faith. We are the beneficiaries of this gift. As sharers as well as witnesses. Such enlightened and invigorated faith!
