Born in the new world, I returned to our roots in Italy!

Me in Pompei! As anyone who has been to Italy can tell you: this lovely land is the greatest open-air museum in the world! It is the only place where it is possible to see the traces of thousands upon thousands of history while simply walzing around anywhere. One time I was hiking for five ours straight along the coastline just northwest of Rome. Just south of Ladispoli, I came upon ancient ruins on the shore that I later heard were Etruscan (while some of that settlement is now under the sea today). At any turn here I could pocket ruins for the mantle back home! Seeing such history stimulates a myriad of emotions and awe; after the Caesars, Emperors and Pharaohs of this world, who is left? The last man standing is the Catholic Faith...along with us with our mortality. If we, too, have to die, let's be on the winning team! The immense cultural patrimony of Italy/Rome is shared by each of us as we are sons and daughters of Rome as having been born into and from the Christian West. Let's enjoy it!
