Shooting stars in Italy...

Sleeping on beaches all these nights a lot of shooting stars have been seen.

I asked a girl on the train why this is so and she laughed and exclaimed: "It's August 10 the feast of San Lorenzo!"

Evidently they get a lot of shooting stars this time of the year.

Truly amazing to witness.

I believe the shooting stars are known as "St. Lawrence's Tears' but isn't it a bit early?
