This picture tells me that too many symbols and traditions in Rome were scrapped in the philistine years of Paul VI.

Oh, the old papal court and its pomp have gone. But I do wonder : what on earth the sedeia gestatoria has to do with the papal court.

After all, John Paul I used it (briefly).

I wonder if JP could find a photo of that ?
