What is wrong with this picture?

What used to be excised even a few years ago is now accepted.
This photo was taken in the most popular childrens' book shop in Rome. When I complained to the employee she looked at me like a donkey.
Looking for a kids book for some relatives, I entered and found mostly rows of childrens' books on sorcery, wizard craft, vampire and cannibal interests, Soviet bonk and even this "sex" book on the lower right.
Support all families who homeschool their kids and expunge anything like this that might have found its way into your sacred home.

John,

problem is: homeschooling is illegal here in the EU(SSR) -European Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics

Thanks for this post John.

First of all, an acknowledgment of how troubling this is.

Secondly, why do people not understand that communism has a pretty bad genocide legacy, especially in light of the actions of Chairman Mao. Imagine a "Me and Adolf" book for kids. This is as bad or worse.

I don't know about the statistics on this site , in terms of historical accuracy, but if they are anywhere near accurate on Mao, well...

I am always blown away by those sickle and hammer flag waving Italians. They just don't get it.

That's so awful :-( Gosh, we really are destroying our next generation, huh? Those who aren't aborted are taught the most horrible things.

Blessed Mother, pray for us!

I'm a librarian and I can tell you that children's AND what we classify as, "young adult" books are rife with the sort of stuff you mention.
I enjoy reading juvenile literature (ages 9 to 12) but one must be very very careful about what to recommend. Even the most innocent looking titles can be filled with descriptions of rape and sexual activity etc. I recently read a juvenile fiction book which COULD have been really quite good - it was about several young girls living in Pompeii at the time of the eruption of Vesuvius. However, I would never recommend this book to young girls of this age - there was a great deal of preoccupation with breasts, sex and male body parts. I was left wondering why this was important in a historical fiction for this age group (or any for that mattter).
Makes my job a huge challenge.
Peace,
Patricia

Not only is the content rotten, but the covers don't even look like something you'd want to buy, much less give to your child.

Contrast these book covers with thos that have Our Lady and saints on them...just the visual and feeling they give you is so much different.

I was strolling thru the streets of St. Paul and came upon a business publisher that had a cut out of the Macbeth witches on the window and advocated witchcraft in other ways as well. I often reflect on how if the scene were Christian rather than sorcery-lawsuits would be filed.
