Catholic life: visit the buried dead today...


Dad sometimes brought us to the cemetery. It was the best thing for us. Mom didn't always like it, but it was best.
Today is the day to make a visit the the cemetery. Dads, bring your household there. With your kids pray the Via Crucis (the Stations of the Cross) amongst the dead. You lead the prayer and you discipline the kids if they get out of line. And afterwards take the fam out for ice cream. And give your wife a reverent kiss in front of the kids. It will be a perfect day.
I'll always remember the All Souls Day when I went to the tomb of Al Capone at the Carmelite cemetary in Chicago with my mom.
