The Apostolic Palace...

In case you ever wondered, the Catholic Church is run/operated, to a great extent, from this one building. The top floor is where the Pope lives and works. There is even a terrace on the roof where the Pope goes each day to get some fresh air (fresh as fresh can be in Rome).

John, on my last day in Rome, I was at the top of the Spanish Steps and saw emblazoned on a building the words, in Latin (though I can't recall them) "Here, the air is the purest in all of Rome." or something (I think) to that effect. Do you know the history of that?

Cool. I've never seen it. I'll check it out the next time I'm over there and I'll try to get a photo of it...
