Many thanks to my father who has done all of my banking for me (for five years!) while I've lived abroad. Luckily, I was always able to count on him and I could never have done it without him. He never once complained and he has always been diligent and supportive. Thanks, dad!
Many of my friends come from divorce. In fact, most of my friends come from divorce. In the world of today divorce is pandemic. So many kids grow up with absent fathers and even when these kids grow into adults one can often hear them speak of their mother or grandmother, but not a work about the father.
But dads are great and they do fine work. And dads love and assist their children in ways that only a father can. No mother (or grandparent), no matter how hard she/he tries, can take the place of a father.
Christian fathers of the world, the Church has sympathy for you and thanks you for your fidelity!

i'm calling D. over to read this one!...thanks for the pat on the back for the pillars of our families. (oh, & D's dad just turned 70 this week...another wonderful dad!)
what you say about your friends is also true for my children's friends. i can count on one hand the friends of my 4 children who live with both married parents.
Oh yes. Let's hear it for dads!
(Mine is the best. And he deserves a public acknowledgement of that fact.)
