Albenga-Imperia: a fine Italian diocese to join...

Many wonderful American clergy feel called to serve abroad in Italy, but think of only Rome.

Know that another lovely diocese is that of Albenga-Imperia, on the Ligurian coast. The bishop there, as seen in this photo taken earlier this month, speakes English and has been there for almost 20 years. It's a new diocese having been founded in 1973 and it's never too late to join.
A big thanks to a dear and sweet friend of mine (hi, Magdalen!), for having taken this photo and for having shared it along with others.

And thanks to the nice Italian who sent this link: http://blog.messainlatino.it/2009/01/alfine-le-foto-della-straordinaria.html.

Hearty congrats to the two Francescos, our Rome friends, now ordained to the Holy Priesthood.

A bishop with a mighty mitre is always a good thing to see.

How does one interested in the priesthood go about joining a diocese in Italy? Is it a matter to discuss with my local bishop?"

the mitre belonged to Cardinal Siri.
