Ultimus Romanorum: the last of the Romans...
I ask the Catholic blogosphere to mobilize in prayer for this French priest, Fr. Franck Quoex. Word on the street in the Rome of today is that this man is the greatest living professor of sacred liturgy.
Fr. Quoex has cancer. I know him to be a stellar priest and a fine man. I ask everyone to offer pious prayers on his behalf by reason of his current state of health.
The Roman legends claim that a true professor of liturgy is born, not made. The authentic “liturgist” is already an endangered species and so nearly extinct. Fr. Quoex has been on the faculty at the F.S.S.P. seminary in Wigratzbad, Bavaria, as a professor of sacred liturgy. He taught me one important thing: “what is past is prologue.”
As Christ hung dying on the cross he cried: Sitio! (I thirst). In these days pray for Fr. Quoex with fervor. Dilexit Ecclesiam (he loved the Church).

We are all with You, dear friend and holy priest, in this hour of agony. God speed.
If you ever get a chance to communicate with Fr Quoex, please give him my best, and assure him of my prayers and Masses for his health and recovery. We were friends in Rome at the Angelicum working on our licentiates, but I lost touch with him when I returned to the States and he left the Christ the King Institute for the FSSP. My name is Fr Lawrence Johnson (and I was with the Premonstratensians or Norbertines).
By the way, I like your blog and all the great pictures. Keep up the good work! Fr L.
Abbe Q is very grateful for every message and prayer. The doctors have noticed some unexplained improvement in his condition. Let us continue to pray for a miracle, while resigning ourselves to Divine Providence.
Yes he was, on the Feast of St. John the Baptist in 1992.
At this stage, only a Great Miracle would keep Fr. Quoëx in place for our good and for the good of all his church. Be aware, we are thousands to pray globally. As some question he should not suffer as much, I believe that we urgently need to unite our petitions to be on the same prayer. Any suggestions? How could we reactivate this Blog?
Mine is to our most gracious Virgin Mary and John Paul the Great.
Don’t we see miracles everyday?
If you are in Rome, light a candle at Chiesa di Gesu e Maria. (Via del Corso, 45) where Farther Quoëx used to celebrate the Holy Mass.
Nunc dimittis servum tuum Domine secundum
verbum tuum in Pace.
