This is me in Genova in front of the home where Christopher Columbus lived. Needless to say, it's rather old! Columbus, a faithful Catholic, was born in Genova and it is in the Ligurian coastal waters there that he learned to sail. I'm from Minnesota. In 1727, two hundred and thirty-five years after the new world was discovered by Columbus, the first recorded Mass was celebrated in Minnesota (in the chapel of Fort Beauharnois, a French trading post on the shores of the Mississippi River)!
