Norcia: where St. Benedict was born...

See the nice church on the right? It was constructed over the home of St. Benedict where he was born in AD 480 along with his twin sister, St. Scholastica. Today the church and attached monastary are under the care of American Benedictines. They're great guys, and traditional. Is it your call? See their nice site here and visit Norcia in Umbria (only 2.5 hours from Rome): http://www.osbnorcia.org/.

Without laboring the point, finally a return to asceticism in Italy [the example of the ascetic is what those people need more than anything else]!
