Rome has a few big cemeteries (Flaminio, Laurentino, Ostia Antica), but the biggest and best is that of the Verano (Policlinico stop on Metro Line B). I always recommend for tourists and pilgrims to take a walk through the Campo Verano while they visit the Basilica of San Lorenzo.

I love that cemetery. I spent an entire day there once, just walking around.
