The priest is the man in uniform. He has a new comportment excelling in composition when he dresses in this garment. It almost cannot even be explained. Mother Church, in Her wisdom, chose this garment and She chose well.

The priest is not wearing a habit. This is a cassock. Habits are worn by members of a particular religious congregation. This is a diocesan priest.
I wish we could see more of them in cassocks.
