Here we see the first master looking like a monsignor in this choir cassock. When you see two clerics attend to a prelate as first and second master during a Sung Mass you will sometimes see that they are dressed as monsignori in this manner.

funny that, while the mc is wearing choir dress (correct), the cardinal is not.
Its not that he is "dressed like a monsignor" but that that purple (or roman paonazza as it has become) is the colour of the livery of cardinals servants (mc, train bearer etc.) Even the choristers and altarboys in St. Peter's wear that colour.
Just curious. On the vesting altar one can clearly see a pontifical dalmatic yet HE does not seem to be wearing it after vesting.

"true dat" as my roommate would say. yes, strangely the prelate didn't put on the dalmatic and tunicle that was there for him (althogh he did last year)...
