My own mother became a nurse in 1963. In my youth we had several Catholic nurses in our neighborhood and when I watched these moms head off to work each afternoon they each wore the same thing: a cleanly pressed white dress with similar nylons and shoes as these ladies.
Glad they still keep these traditions in Catholic Italy (white gloves and all) and so let's band together and do the same when we can (or at least wear our best to Sunday Mass)...
