the coat of arms on the vestment are those of St Francis de Sales. The same can be found on the reverse side of the silver metropolitan cross of the Archbishop of Westminster. The cross was given to Cardinal Bourne. The late Cardinal's patron Saint was St Francis de Sales.
The same coat of arm has been used by the Missionaries of St Francis de Sales of Annecy since their foundation in 1838.
