It's that time of year, friends. Everybody has to choose a candidate. Christians are asked to vote pro-life and we hope that as many as possible will exercise their right to vote this coming autumn.
Meanwhile, I have made the decision not to support the darling of the liberal media, Barack Hussein Obama. In fact, I've had it with his schmaltz. Instead, I vote pro-life.
A few years I ago I read a book entitled Flyboys by James Bradley. Here's a quote:
"At that moment, I was looking into the eyes of arguably the most accomplished and successful man alive. George Herbert Walker Bush had led a storied life as an athlete, war hero, businessman, congressman, ambssador to the United Nations, ambassador to China, head of the CIA, vice president, president, and father of the current president. He had been in love with one woman since he was seventeen and they were approaching sixty years of marriage."
Just last week the old man came out in support of Senator John McCain. I follow suit.
With a grimace some readers might be angry. But the endgame of America ain't going to happen on my vote.

John McCain is becoming a figure of ridicule before our eyes. As gaffe prone as Romney. This whole thing is a joke. A man who is 'tongue-tied' and can't think on the spot. I wonder who that remind me of???
Is it more patriotic to vote for a war hero or for one with a scimitar in his hand and a turban on his head?
Obama has neither a scimitar nor a turban...how 'patriotic' is it to ridicule ones' ethnic roots?...all of us came from somewhere.
Pro-life means 'pro-life' which is not exclusive of war, capital punishment and torture, which the present administration appears to have embraced. I would hardly consider Pres. Bush 'pro-life' after witnessing the death and chaos he wreaked upon the innocent women and children of Iraq.
What other real choice does a pro-life Christian have but to vote for McCain. Frnkly Ron Paul has a better platform. I am old enough to understand the adage: "Not all that glitters is gold." In deed Obama is glitzy, but not a man of Christian principles with reference to life.
I saw a photo of Mr. Obama wearing a battle costume with turban and sword.
This is not a one issue campaign; the economy, the environment, healthcare, unemployment, the war, all factor into the decision process. I am not an Obama fan per se, but at this juncture he appears to be the lesser of many evils. But frankly, if the election was held tomorrow, I don't know who I'd vote for. This decision requires prayer and fasting.
Voting for McCain?!!! You've got to be joking me J.P.?!!!
Anyone who thinks he's truly pro-Life is sadly mistaken. He's simply an opportunist, as his voting record clearly shows. Check out the dirt on him in "The American Conservative":

Thus in the absence of a true anti-abortion candidate, I will vote pro-Life by voting for the candidate least likely to start another war--Barak Obama.
BTW, from the below photo it looks like perhaps Mrs. Clinton has also embraced Islam. LOL.

I'm am glad to see you're supporting John McCain -- right along with the bitterly Catholic Hating John Hagee -- wonderful, wonderful. "I saw a photo of Mr. Obama wearing a battle costume with turban and sword." please inform yourself more. While not a supporter of Obama you must be able to think and read and research for yourself.
I think Miguel hit the nail squarely on the head.
All the cynical commentary above demonstrates the lack of the use of sound Catholic reasoning among these commentators. While pro-life is only one of several issues, Obama lacks the leadership skills and experience required of the office. Obama is all show, no substance. Obama does not have the necessary virtue of fortitude to lead this country effectively.

So you move from sound Catholic reasoning to sound catholic judgementalism? Very nice, especially during this lenten season.
JP,
Your vote will be needed for the house and senate seats that are up this fall. That is where you can make a difference!
