'Altar Boy' is a bad term here. We must use the term 'altar server' because of female servers.

'Altar Boy' is the long-standing and correct term for those young men who assist at the Altar. They are the future of the Church as it is from their ranks, almost exclusively, that future vocations will come.

Female servers are an aberration that, hopefully, will soon be swept away again along with those ghastly 'communion tables' that so destroy the beauty and integrity of our churches (as JPS so often points out here).

Isn't it also good to rever to Altar Boys as Knights of the Altar?

Bravo Vernon! I totally agree .The female alter serves is just feminism gone mad! And let me point out, i am NOT a down trodden mouse that has no opinion.

For some reason, I'm looking at those two young boys in the photo and I'm having a hard time accepting that they are thinking "Gee, I'm glad we don't have any girl servers because that would feel really femmy."
