What a magnificent altar. Having seen that, it is easy to understand why there are so few vocations to the priesthood when we went from that which in every way was an expression to glorify God, to the spiritually bankrupt Protestant style service of today (The Novus Ordo), and the horrible flat wooden or slab marble "facing the people" Vatican II table altars.
