As wonderful as it is to see these things, they shouldn't be in a museum, but being used ad majorem Dei gloriam!

Three pine cones in a line on the morse: the liturgical privilege of a cardinal-bishop. Three pine cones in a triangle: the Papal penitential morse. The pine cone is also the pattern which decorated the white mitres of cardinals in the Pope's presence.

The Romanian girl tour guide there said on special days they still use some of the stuff there in the cathedral liturgies.
