Sometimes people ask me why I attend Mass in the Tridentine Rite. The answer is simple: Hocerat in more majorum (this was in the manner of our ancestors).
Exactly! Some people seem to forget that this is the Mass for which some of our ancestors died. Their deaths should not be in vain.
I find it ironic how many Irish-Americans of to-day are some of the biggest opponents of the Traditional Latin Mass or simply have fallen away from the Church. "Wait, what did your ancestors die for? Why are you fiercely anti-Protestant again?" LOL.
Also ...with the Novus Ordo, the American Bishops change somethings every time they meet. We are the most mixed up bunch of worshipers... Even in Rome, one sees all sorts of people doing different things at each Mass.
I'm a graduate student and tour operator living in Rome, Italy. Life is good. Studium Urbis! P.S. To know history is to be Catholic. P.P.S. Schedule your tour with us while in Rome.
