The founder of the Legionaries of Christ, P. Marciel Maciel, L.C., just passed away yesteryday, January 30 in the United States. Please pray for his soul.

Yes pray for his soul, an appaling sex offender who bismirched Catholic life and priesthood.
At least during this generation of forfeiture his deference and fealty were always to the See of Peter (orthodoxy).

Like so many others today. Even among those who pray the Traditional Latin Mass. Some who pretend to be Monsignors.
Yes, I do not know why we should admire him. A group who had secret promises that the Pope recently had to dispense. I have known 3 good men who entered this group. They were destroyed by the "ss" like approach. Catholic in doctrine...inhuman in approach.
"Grace builds on nature and perfects it". Groups like this destroy the very nature they seek to save.
I was in a Legion of Christ minor seminary for 5 years and I was not destroyed with an "ss" like approach. As a matter of fact I support the Legion very much and now I am a seminarian at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in St. Louis Missouri.
