Traditions of Roman Rite...

It would be great to see more of these old world Catholic traditions in the new world. Here we can see the craftsmanship with the hand-painted candles until the 1960s with the advent of the decal-sticker.

these candles are in a private chapel in the palazzo massimo on the corso v. e. ii (they hang on the wall of the sacristy).

Yes, you can see the picture of St Philip Neri on one of them - the Massimi have a great devotion to that Saint, who raised one of the Princes from the dead and set a spiritual order over the whole household in his lifetime.
