From Rome: Saint Nicholas Day...

Each year there's always the same people at this wonderful liturgical event.
The Greek Orthodox pastor in Rome, seen in the top photo, makes a visit. He's always really nice, smiles, greets everybody and doesn't mind getting his photo taken. He's often seen all over Rome. In fact, just the day before yesterday he drove by me in a Smart car!
The celebrant, seen vesting here, is the great Latinist, Zenon Cardinal Grocholewski. He's the Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Catholic Education and a Cardinal Deacon of S. Nicola in Carcere as it's his titular church. Mass was sung in Latin (typical edition Missale Romanum). and the parish choir did a fine job.
