Catholic leadership: show us the way...

Nancy Pelosi, Teddy and friends are fools. Actually, I've met a true Catholic politician in Italy, three times. Warriors for the cause, meet il Rex, Giulio Andreotti.
During the Nazi occupation of Rome he found shelter in the Vatican. Seven times he was top dog after the Il Regno d'Italia. He has always attended daily Mass in Rome and even continues today in his nineties.
Read his story on the internet and may he inspire us all as the torch has indeed been passed to a new generation...

JPSonnen, I think that I read Mr. Andreotti saying that JPII did not believe it necessary to create new patriarchs, particulary the one for the Ucranian Greek-Catholics. I certainly do not understand this mentality since the II Vatican Council explicitly expressed its desire for the establishment of new patriarchs. Another of the many areas where the pope has disobeyed the Council. ¡Talking about imperial popes!

Has Mr. Andreotti published his memories? I am sure he must be at the center of all the political maquinations in Italy for the past 60 years: fight against the Italian Communist Party and Enrico Berlinger and the fight against the Red Brigades. By the way who financed the Red Brigades? I always thought that it was always Soviet money behind all these guerrilla movements, but that is not so. I am sure Italian money was behind them.

i actually don't know too much about andreotti. he's still on tv here all the time and in newspapers as he's a lifetime senator and so his voice is big and he writes for il tempo, trenta giorni, etc.

italian culture of today is very marxist, as in latin america. millions of italians are still merry communists (albeit their version of it).
