To Sarajevo...where World War I began!

I never told my parents when I went to visit Sarajevo as I didn't want them to worry (with Sarajevo practically being a synonym for assasination!). But, here I am after days in the rugged Balkans, at the site of the assasination. It was 28 June, a.D. 1914 when the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Sofia, were shot here.

War in the Balcan (in the past), war in the Iraq, war in the Africa countries, war in Palestine-Israel... The world is fool...

Hi there!

Incidentally stumbled over your blog and found it quite interesting (being a Catholic myself). I like the positive attitude you have towards the world! Though wars and conflicts happen, the world IS a wonderful place. You just have to focus on the positive aspects of life. We need more people like you around!!! :-D

God bless,
Elise

Was the war started there? Debateable...

Was it started in the minds of the countries and the shooting was just one of the many instigating factors?

The start of WWI was the biggest game of chicken in human history. Everyone thought the others would blink.
