The Return: Ambrosian Rite in Lateran Basilica...



The sunlit Capella Santa Anna is where clergy celebrate private Masses in the Lateran Archbasilica, located just off the sacristy.

    Private means without a congregation.

    Also from the frequent appearance of the phrase "missa privata" in the rubrics of the Missal of St. Pius V, liturgical manuals, the Roman Pontifical. Unimportant things like that.
