Of course everyone has the personal "right" of migration, which is not to be impugned (cf. VII: G et S, 65) and there are now many millions of Third World Immigrants in the Italy and Europe of today. But the danger is that very few of these immigrants are Christian.

Because nations are a human and rather short lived construct, not of divine origin. IF, and it is a very important if, a foreigner can become a productive member of a society, there is no divinely instituted Law which prevents him from migrating somewhere else and leading a better life. God made the world for everybody.
ReplyDeleteI don't think migration can be accorded as a "right" - a privilege yes, but not a right.
ReplyDeleteActually, Catholic teaching does regard migration as a right, but also each country has the right to regulate migration and control its borders.
ReplyDeleteActually the danger is that Christians aren't having babies. I don't think we should look at non Christian migrants as dangerous.
