Catholic Italy: to commemorate the santi (saints)...
Photo from the Internet. Here we see how to involve kids and families in the commemoration of the lives of the saints. Make it fun. This is catechesis. Kids and parents learn together. It's a form of public witness.
It is the re-enactment of the so-called "peace of lomazzo" from 1286, a treaty which was signed between the Ghibelline Como and Guelph Milan, two towns who were engaged in bitter and long wars during the middle ages. Because Lomazzo was right on the border between the Como and the Milan territory and because the city was considered neutral, the peace treaty was signed there.
Sweet! Do you know the occasion?
ReplyDeleteNot sure, but I think it was in the town of Lomazzo, near Milan.
ReplyDeleteGreetings John!
ReplyDeleteJust wondering, what headgear is His Excellency wearing?
Thanks!
